Fischer wind choir includes piccolo, alto flute, and contrabass clarinet. About Brent Fischer
Working professionally since age 16, Grammy®-winning Brent Fischer has enjoyed a wide variety of music roles as composer, arranger, producer, conductor, and educator. As a writer, his three-dimensional musical palette makes use of many lesser-known instruments, creating a rich harmonic and orchestral aesthetic, true to the Fischer brand. His arrangements for pop, jazz and R&B royalty include artists: Usher, Michael Jackson, Elvis Costello & The Roots, Toni Braxton, Al Jarreau, and maestro Michael Feinstein and The Pasadena Pops. Brent arranged, orchestrated and co-produced 'Really Love' by D'Angelo & The Vanguard for their album, 'Black Messiah' which won Best R&B song & album in 2016 Grammys®. He has produced nine Clare Fischer albums --including Grammy®-winning 'Ritmo!' feat Poncho Sanchez and Alex Acuña, and ‘Music for Strings, Percussion and the Rest'. A multi-instrumentalist, Brent Fischer has a Music Degree in Symphonic Percussion and directs the Fischer ensembles - Big Band, Latin Jazz Group, Voices.... Brent Fischer's modern arrangement of Mussorgsky classic, Pictures At an Exhibition (2021) has delighted audiences worldwide and creates a new big-band aesthetic for multi-genre music featuring Ron Stout, Larry Koonse, Carl Saunders, Andy Martin, Scott Whitfield, Francisco Torres, to name a few.
Grammy®-winning American composer, arranger and pianist Dr. Clare Fischer (October 22, 1928 – January 26, 2012) has secured an honorable place in music history. He worked with jazz legends such as Donald Byrd and Dizzy Gillespie before becoming the go-to-guy for arranging pop albums from the 80s . Fischer became known for his Latin and Bossa nova recordings in the 1960s. He has composed over 100 originals, including the popular Latin jazz and jazz standards 'Morning', and 'Pensativa'. Dr Fischer's influences range from Stravinsky to Ellington to Jobim. Clare Fischer is consistently cited by jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock as a major influence. His symphonic works like 'Rhapsody Nova', and 'The Duke', 'Swee'pea and Me', are perfo rmed by symphony orchestras around the world. A multi-instrumentalist who earned two degrees at Michigan State University, Fischer also received an honorary doctorate from his Alma Mater for his outstanding contributions to the field of jazz. He has also scored music for TV and motion pictures, and with the help of his son, Brent Fischer (continues his father's legacy as writer and arranger), Clare made the leap to popular music, writing charts for Prince, Paul McCartney, Cal Tjader, Rufus and Chaka Khan, and Carlos Santana. http://www.clarefischer.com/ Clare
