History: Prior to going freelance Judy Clapp gained
experience working at 3 world-renowned studios (Larrabee, Ocean
Way and Capitol Records) where she worked with a broad range of
artists, such as Fleetwood Mac, Diane Schuur & the Count Basie
band; Barbra Streisand, Bob Seger, X and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Judy developed an appreciation for classic recording techniques
using vintage tube mics and gear achieving the sounds and mixes
that she characterizes as “pure, while also hard-edged when appropriate.” A trained pianist and violinist, Judy was member
of the USFS kayak Patrol on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River
and has lived on a number of wilderness lookout towers in the mountains
of central Idaho.

Evening News, Jane Pauley Show. Judy recorded
and mixed the recently released Bill Frisell record, "Blues
Dream." She is interviewed
for the January 2001 issue of Pro-Audio Review and is currently
working on mixes with Buck Owens.
