History

Glenwood Place Studios is the historical site of what was
previously Kendun Recorders, Red Zone, Take One, Front Page
and Audio X where artists like Stevie Wonder, Joe Cocker and Frank Zappa recorded. “Glenwood Place has a rich history, and we wanted
a forward-looking addition with these new rooms,” says Kit.  Initially the studios opened with  two tracking and mixing studios with an SSL 9000J, and a third room with a Vintage Flying Faders Neve 8068.

“This being LA, a beautiful outdoor lounge space was also a must,” says Rebhun, who specified tasteful design ideas for the indoor/outdoor creative spaces and the beautiful courtyards. "All the flexibility with having six different rooms, plus the serene environment makes our facility unique," she adds.

Jacob Dennis, Chief Engineer for Glenwood Studios, adds, “In my experience being in the studio, and particularly for writing sessions, I feel the environment plays a major role in putting people in a creative mindset. Additionally, as an engineer I need the room to be functional and also translate. Glenwood Gold and Silver do a fantastic job of marrying those two worlds.”

The beautiful courtyard and lounges provide an escape for all clients to enjoy.
"To reinforce the Central Courtyard, the interior client lounges open themselves   out to exterior spaces, allowing natural light to penetrate the existing buildings  and to create views to the outside from within," says Kotch of Criteron Acoustics.
